Blue is the colour, perspective is the game

Jardin Majorelle is located on the new side of Marrakech. It is one of the most visited sites in Morocco. In the midst of the town's craziness and colour overload, a special shade of blue brings peace and energy at the same time. It's called Majorelle blue just as  Romania's special is called Voronet blue.

"The pools, streams and fountains create a haven of serenity. The delicate sound of trickling water accompanies the song of the bulbul in the gardens and the chirping of numerous other bird species who have found their Eden here: blackbirds, house sparrows, robins, blue tits, great tits, warblers, grey wagtails and turtledoves." source

The sound of trickling water came mostly from the Majorelle blue square fountain. It quickly became both my focus and my game there. I played with taking pictures from different angles. Looking at the photos, I realize they are an allegory of how differently we can see life when we choose to. When we look at things from a different perspective, everything looks different.  Which is so much needed sometimes.

The fountain was bearly visible at the end of this water stream. Seemed too far, but still there, a quick stroll away.

In addition to the contrasting yellow flower pots, the cacti were guarding the fountain so gracefully...

...or hiding it, depending on where I was standing:

The sunbathing fountain was a revelation. Aha moments feel like you're finally in the light. Going round and round until the truth, the way, the answer, is in plain sight. Until all is clear. The silly thing is that it was there all along.

With enough play and contemplation time, I was finally able to shift my focus to the greenery around and leave the fountain to the enchantment of other visitors to come.

This is my favourite picture, with a perfect cacti frame. I definitely want it in my house for display.

Another thing I want is to hold on to is my perspective realization. I keep the Majorelle square fountain on my mind as a reminder; I only need to change my spot a little to see things differently. Or realize that somebody might be looking at things from a different place. Which is perfectly normal. Just like life is. But normal is so different to each and every one of us. Let's keep that in mind!

A garden a day keeps the doctor away!

P.S. other gardens in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and in Balchik, Bulgaria
