The Carrie Diaries, SATC (p)reloaded

SATC - you all know what it means, right?
The girls are not back but SATC is, sort of. I guess we, the SATC fans, all wandered how Carrie looked like when she was 16 and what was her life like in college. "The Carrie Diaries" is the answer to the 2 questions and more.

Back in 1984. "Ronald Regan and shoulder pads were all the rage" like Carrie puts it. The TV series is not as glamourous as the original and clothes seem outdated, cause they actually are, but the important things are still there, the small and the big ones:
  • Carrie's writing table is still under the window;
  • the bag she "customized", picture above, is featured in Interview magazine, no column yet
  • there is a gay friend who hasn't come out yet
  • the "new boy" is blond this time and faithful too, unlike a certain Mr Big
  • THE CITY is very appealing to her even back than
  • she has a C necklace as a predecessor to the Carrie one
  • there is a theme to each episode and the monologue is as enjoyable as we knew it to be
  • it is still about friendship. Carrie says to her girlfriends and sister at the end of episode 2 : "We are lucky to have each other"; yes she has a younger sister this time and they live outside of the big city with their father.

I don't want to reveal more cause I'll let you have the pleasure of discovering it. Enjoy and let me know how do you like it.

A joy a day keeps the doctor away!
