Skyfall or last rat standing

 Yesterday night we went out to see Skyfall. I did it for A. because I am not a Bond series fan. To my big surprise, I really enjoyed it as it has everything I want from an action movie. Ready for another list?!:
  • The opening „act” was filmed in Istambul  and it didn’t involve any bombing but just good action
  • Adele was singing during the title sequence – nice song and very nice surrealist introduction
  • There  is just enough talk for an action movie; moreover the lines are very smart and witty
  • Bérénice Marlohe is stunning
  • Javier Bardem is good at playing the bad guy
  • Bond seems more realistic being  a little bit out of shape- he is human after all
  • There was enough bum-bum (bombing) but it was justified by the course of action
  •  There is even some poetry, if you can imagine that, recited by M, from "Ulysses" by Lord Tennyson
 "Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
  •  A glimpse of Scotland and its fairy scenery is also included. I found that the Scotland scenes were actually filmed in Surrey, England.
  •  There is no „good wins all”. The end is more like a „win-win” situation which surprised me even more (I don’t want to spoil your pleasure by giving more details)

 The Daily Telegraph's film reviewer, Robbie Collin, predicted that the film "will be a stratospheric hit".

P.S. The movie will tell you all about the "last rat standing".
